Gone, Gone, Gone Beyond (The Heart Sutra)

The titles for this series are from a seminal Buddhist Sutra, called The Sutra of the Heart of Transcendent Knowledge.
The story of this Sutra holds the core teachings of the Mayhana School of Tibetan Buddhism. There are many books written about
The Heart Sutra and, naturally, many translations. The version I learned is from Chögyam Trumgpa, my root guru.

It is said as a chant, and can be done alone. But is the opportunity to do it with a group—one's sangha—that brings out the chant's resonance and power.
Sometimes it is done with a drum to mark the cadence. The fundamental line in this text is:

Om Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhisvaha.

Gone, gone, gone beyond. Awake. Exposed. So Be It.
